Mr Rogan won the recent D Ward by-election, called after the passing of Councillor John Martin.
As part of his induction Mr Rogan swore to “undertake the duties of the officer of councillor in the best interests of the people of Tenterfield Shire area and the Tenterfield Shire Council, and that I will faithfully and impartially carry out the functions, powers, authorities and discretions vested in me under the Local Government Act 1993 and any other act, to the best of my ability and judgement.”
Mr Rogan can now legally participate in council decision-making, with the appointment of council’s new chief executive officer high on the agenda.
Chief corporate officer Ms Smith assumed acting CEO duties on September 1 until the newly-appointed CEO takes office. Chief operating officer Andre Kompler had filled the role during the month of August.
