Thea and Allan McKenzie may be only just starting their reign as Tenterfield’s Citizens of the Year, but Tenterfield Shire Council is already urging people to consider who they will nominate for the 2019 awards, and it has widened the field.
Now those who live outside the shire borders but have contributed within the shire are eligible for nomination.
“We know that along our borders there are many people who live outside the shire but work and have undertakings in our shire,” Mayor Peter Petty said. “Council has recognised this and has expanded the criteria to allow them to be nominated.”
There is now also a dedicated page on the council website to complete nominations online as soon as a good deed in done, without waiting for nominations to be called closer to the event.
