The Roosters only brought nine players to Tenterfield and the home side capitalised, running in 40 points to nil.
Coach Wayne Minns was pleased with his team’s ability to keep level-headed and focused on the task at hand.
“Basically the whole idea was to go out and put into practice everything we have been working on and they did it quite well,” he said.
“I was very happy with the way that they applied themselves to try the things we have been working on.
“We didn't get overly excited, we knew we would have the advantage from the start.
“I just said to the girls ‘play what is in front of you, don't be thinking because they have got nine players you are going to win. You still have to go out there and do the work that you need to do,’ which they did.
“To their credit they got stuck in and did the work that they needed to do and it worked out well in the end.”

The Tigers sit in fifth spot on the table – one place outside a finals berth – and will be hoping they can knock fourth-placed Warialda off this Saturday.
Should they beat the Wombats side, the Tenterfield team will sit in fourth.
“It will be a big game out there [at Warialda]. I think our defensive line is quite up for the task,” Minns said.
“We will brush up on a few little things in the defensive line this week and keep working on our attack and hopefully all will be good.”
After Warialda, the Tigers have two big tasks in front of them with a trip to play second-placed Walcha and then a home game against the undefeated Uralla side.
“We have three big games. If we can win, we can hopefully sneak into that fourth spot,” Minns said.
“Just looking forward to getting this one out of the road and then we have our two main challenges the next two weeks after that.”
