The Tigers came away with a 26-6 win and coach Kerry Brett described the match as their “toughest game of the season.”
“It was probably good timing to have a really tough game,” he said.
“Ashford certainly came out of the blocks and really put it to us which was good.

“It is common knowledge our girls usually skip out to a couple of tries ahead and cruise through the game but it was 6-all at half-time and they had a fair bit of work to do.
“Twenty points in the second-half, I was pretty happy with it.
“We spilled a bit of ball and a few offside penalties cost us in the first-half but we got it together a bit in the second-half and it was a lot better.”
The Tigers are aiming to start better against the Warialda Wombats at home this Saturday.
“Warialda, they will be wanting to cement a spot in the top four,” Brett said.
“By all accounts they haven't always been travelling well but we will see how they turn up and it will certainly been a tough game.”
With players departing the club in recent weeks and others unavailable through injury, Brett was forced to re-shuffle his line-up.
He is hoping his team can come together and develop combinations in their coming games leading into the semi-finals.
“The next couple of weeks we will probably look at a couple of different combinations in case someone is out or depending on who is on the field at the time,” Brett said.
“Just looking at giving us options, setting in place what we have had in training the last couple of weeks and keep that going forward so nothing too different.”
