Club president Larry Hoskins said the weather forecast was looking good, a sunny day with light winds – perfect conditions for flying.
“Idea of event is that the aircraft flying are a real representation and they’ll fly in a manner similar to what the original would have flown,” he said.
“There will be everything from World War I bi-planes and World World II fighters, to modern day civilian aircraft. There’ll be some very good air displays, similar to the Red Bull air races.”
He said it’s also “quite the spectacle” for children.
The flying starts at Tip Rd Somerton on Saturday 10am to 3pm, and from 9am to 3pm on the Sunday.
