Last Thursday, six students from Year 6 competed in the Toastmasters Public Speaking competition final
These students have been working with Susan Butterfield from Tenterfield Toastmasters over a number of weeks to improve their public speaking skills. All of the students did an amazing job and spoke with confidence and commitment. The students did not use a microphone.
The topics included Bengal Tigers, Computers, Grizzly Bears, Ocean Pollution, Australian Trade and The Solar System.
Each speaker was allowed to speak for three minutes and the judges were awarding marks for both presentation skills and the organisation of the speech.
In a very close competition, Abby was the winner with her speech on ocean pollution and Lucy was the runner up with her speech on Australian Trade.
All of the competitors should be extremely proud of their presentations and all members of the audience commented on the high standard of the speeches.
Thanks to Susan and Peter from Tenterfield Toastmasters for their support.
