On January 17 and 18, the boys joined a group fellow aspiring cricketers at the Shaun Brown coaching clinic at The Armidale School.
Former opening test batsman John Dyson and bowler Dave Gilbert were part of the coaching staff mentoring the youngsters at the camp.
Dyson wore the baggy green for Australia 30 times and played in 29 one day internationals.
Gilbert played nine tests and 14 one day internationals.
Tenterfield cricket’s Dave Fowler said the duo spent plenty of time with the participants and guided them through various exercises to improve their game.
“The boys spent two full days playing and bowling in the nets, and being filmed and later analysed it to try and improve their faults,” he said.
“They spent individual time with each kid.
“There was also a number of other accredited coaches there helping.
“Two of the boys or young fellas that were coaching, they were previously Tenterfield boys.”
Here they don't get that opportunity and it was certainly worth the trip down for them.

Having the coaches on hand to pass on skills and tips which helped them to the top was a unique opportunity for the young cricketers.
Fowler said the six Tenterfield participants got a lot out of being around the coaches and other like-minded cricketers.
“It was good because when they go to those sort of things, these kids just love cricket, and when they go to that area there are probably 50 other kids with the same passion,” he said.
“When they get in there and get among other kids in a big group, they really get a lot off it. Here they don't get that opportunity and it was certainly worth the trip down for them.”
