Making her return to the field was captain-coach Megg Landers who was proud of how her team dug in defending their line to triumph 12-8.
"Our defence was really good," she said.
"We went okay in attack, but we are still working on it.
"All the girls did their job and they knew that we didn't have many subs and just knew they had to suck it up."
We have a really good chance at going places but if they don't come to training, it is not going to happen.
- Megg Landers
The Tigers girls had one reserve on the bench and Landers couldn't fault them across the park.
"I can't fault anyone. I was really happy," she said.
"I couldn't believe that we won, it was tight but. That morning, I was confident but not overly confident.
"Our training wasn't too crash hot this week, we didn't have many girls."
The win put Tenterfield in the top four for the second time this season.
This Sunday, the Tigers host Bundarra and Landers is hoping they can keep their momentum going and the win will motivate the squad to work harder at training.
"We have a really good chance at going places but if they don't come to training, it is not going to happen," she said.
"I reckon they [Bundarra] are one of the hardest teams that we have played. When we played out there, they really stuck it to us.
"We will have to train hard this week for them."
The men's match was a firey and physical affair with both teams muscling up in defence.
Less than two minutes in, Walcha centre Jock Abraham split the defence and ran 70 metres to score.
Walcha found themselves 8-nil in front after a penalty goal before Tenterfield hit their straps.
Brendan Blaker crossed 20 minutes in and seven minutes later Geoff Swan junior made his way across for the Tigers to take the lead 10-8.
Abraham crossed for his second try three minutes from half-time and the Roos earned another two points via a penalty goal to lead 16-10 at the break.
In the second stanza, the Tigers levelled things up when Wayne Brown made his way over the tryline.
The highlight of the match came shortly after when referee Dean Carson hit the turf and rolled backwards before leaping up to continue officiating.
Not long after, Abraham crossed for his third try which went unconverted.
A player from each side was sin binned late in the match but the Roos held on to win 20-16.
This Sunday they face second-placed Bundarra who were pipped by Tingha 20-18 in round nine.
