The main fundraising event of the year for the Moto Guzzi Club of Queensland is the Ruptured Budgie Rally held at Mingoola held each year in May, on the first weekend after Mother's Day.
The group receives much assistance with its rally from the Tenterfield Lions Club and the local Mingoola community.
Ms Takayama said the Mingoola brigade is most grateful for this magnificent contribution.
"The money will be very helpful in paying for tools and equipment for our appliance, which will enhance the capability of our braveheart firefighters.
"Our small brigade this year has fielded crews day and night at every fire north, south, east and west of Tenterfield.
"We have been kept busy by this very unusual fire season, which began two months earlier than expected and has presented many challenges to all the brigades engaged in fighting these fires, the like of which we have never seen before.
The brigade received generous support for its fundraising raffle from Tenterfield Chainsaws & Mowers, Total Rural Supplies in Toowoomba, Zappa Wines, Peter Lewis and Wiltshire & Co. Proceeds from the raffle were around $1300.
The lucky winners of the raffle were David Caldwell, Nick Ray, Ellen Watson, Cody Buffer, Damo, Vicki Watson, Bruce Lansley and Judy Potter.
