After the group formed officially two weeks ago, cyclists of all ages and abilities set out in varying groups to test out their wheels.
Club committee member Adrian Ebbern took charge of the younger and less experienced bikers and declared the day a success.
"It was an opening invitation for people to come along and join the group," he said.
"We had several different different groups of rider with different skill levels, it was popular. I know the kids had a great day, we did a little of off road riding, we did a little hard surface riding along the Tenterfield Creek.
"There's been quite a few people come in and ask about the ride, they must have seen it on Facebook.
"There was large adult group that went out as well on several different distance rides. From all reports that all went well."
Ebbern said since the ride on Sunday, more people have been inquiring about mountain biking in Tenterfield.
They will host a meeting at 5.30pm, Thursday, September 10 at the Telegraph Hotel where they will discuss further events and dates.
Ebbern said interested parties are invited to come along or join 'The Saddlers Mountain Bike Club Tenterfield' group on Facebook.
