That was the message from Tenterfield Shire Council on Tuesday due to the rapidly changing conditions impacting roads and bridges across the shire.
Warnings were not being issued for individual roads during this current weather event.
"For the safety of yourself, Emergency Crews and Council road crews, please do not enter floodwaters. If you must travel, be aware that the current heavy rain event is causing large and deep potholes to develop in road surfaces and water sheeting is making driving conditions treacherous," Mayor Peter Petty said.
"Due to rising water levels, our crews are unable to access many areas of the shire. Please stay safe."
