St Joseph’s Tenterfield were back in the classroom on Monday while Sir Henry Parkes Memorial Public School went back yesterday (Tuesday).
Our newest kindergarten kids were nearly all smiles, with a few students and parents shedding a tear or two on their first day at “big school”.
Sir Henry Parkes welcomed 31 new students on Tuesday while St Joseph’s had 14 new additions.
“They did settle beautifully,” St Joseph’s principal Cherie Yates said.
“We had a morning tea to welcome them in with their parents – so the parents were eased gently into letting them go too.
“They were all back with smiling faces on day two,” Cherie said.
Ms Yates said extensive transition days had helped in the process of settling the kids.
