The Star spoke to a batch of year one students at The Sir Henry Parkes Memorial Public School about their memories of their first day of school last year, what they’ve experienced since and what they’re looking forward to.
The importance of friendship and being nice to each other were strong themes, along with – surprisingly – pizza and large families.
Most of the kids recalled being excited to start school (their parents may remember differently), but all have gone on to thoroughly enjoy the school experience and are looking forward to what they will learn this year.
