The Tenterfield High School year nine student is now a regular at the Scrub Rd range of Tenterfield Traditional Archers, and after serving her probation is now a full member undertaking the field course.

She said she was first acquainted with archery after making it her school sport choice back in year seven. She has repeated that option each time it’s offered every second term under the supervision of teacher Glenn Caisley.

Her part-time work at Foodwords brought her into contact with archery fanatic Marian Rogan (never one to let a chance go by), who suggested Isabell give field archery a go.

Six months later Isabell is now fully involved with the sport, all kitted up and looking forward to the national muster that Tenterfield Traditional Archers is hosting in October. Most weekends will find her out on the course if she’s not caught up with other commitments.

She said she’s attracted to the sport as it requires focus and concentration, which she finds also helps with her schoolwork. She feels she has improved a lot and rarely misses a target these days, and enjoys the challenge of going around the course.

Isabell recommends the sport to her mates and nearly all have had a go at school and one or two have gone out to Traditional Archers, and she continues to be a poster girl for the new sport.
