The community of Gunnedah is bringing in the highest average salary wage in the region.
According to taxation statistics; Gunnedah postcode (2380) brings in $58,100 a whopping $7,723 more than the next highest average wage or salary, Tamworth postcode (2340) which averages $50,377.
Also in this comparison were Glen Innes, Walcha, Armidale, Tenterfield, Inverell, Moree, Goondiwindi, University of New England and Quirindi.

Moree was the third highest average salary and and wage with $49,890, closely followed by Armidale which bought in $49,513.
Not included in Armidale’s numbers is the average wage and salary from the University of New England as the education entity has a different post code.
The University of New England brings in $36,876 as an average wage or salary.
This is not even a third as much as Australia’s richest area, the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, where the average income is up to $192,000 each year.
The average salary in Inverell is at $45281, whereas Goondiwindi earnings stand at $47952 on average.
At the opposite end of the scale is the community of Walcha who average $41,630, Glen Innes who average $42,977 in wages and salaries and the Tenterfield postcode who average $42,103 in salaries and wages.
The ATO figures showed that medical jobs continued to be the best paid. The only non-medical profession to average more than $250,000 was financial dealers on $263,309.
