Bob Rogan, Pat Gillespie, Bruce Everson, Neville Brauer and Clem Brauer from the New England Veteran and Vintage Car Club parked their prized cars on the west lawn for a few hours. Originally pegged as a men’s group activity, staff and some of the Haddington ladies could not resist the opportunity to admire and talk cars too.

Vehicles must be at least 30 years old to be part of the club but they could be considered ‘late model’ for some of their admirers, bringing back memories of jaunts and family outings that feel quite recent. The members’ cars are lovingly cared for and, in some cases, brought back from the brink of the wreckers yard through careful restoration, making for some passionate and lively conversation about the cars’ histories.
