Wallangarra RSL president Dennis Pollard was recently on hand to check out the letters, Christmas Cards, poppies, return envelopes and more prepared by students to be dispatched to defence force personnel.
The school has also been on the receiving end of some lovely items from the RSL including actual sand from Gallipoli Beach. Mr Pollard’s visit was an opportunity to thank the RSL for its donation to the school, and Mr Pollard for his time and effort to share some engaging information with the students.
He talked with the students about what the RSL does, and was very impressed with the donations and the students’ desire to support active service people.
The boxes were then posted during the prep/1/2 excursion to the Wallangarra Post Office (and fire station) at the end of the week.
