Ms Mitchell was accompanying MP Thomas George and Nationals candidate Austin Curtin on a visit to Tenterfield, and she was keen to get some feedback on the program.
The centre was deemed eligible for $11,000 in funding, which it decided to allocate to fee reduction. Every family using the centre needed to pay only $10 per child for the entire term. A term generally costs around $300.
Ms Daly said the drought is affecting not only farming families but also those in retail and other areas, so she was keen to see the money used to help families across the board.
