For those like me who are keen to take advantage of the annual spectacle rebate (‘just to have as a backup’) you’ve accumulated too many backups over the years, most with an out-of-date prescription. There are only two spectacle-wearers in our household, and we quickly and easily gathered eight out-of-date backups in as many minutes.

They've been passed on to the Tenterfield Lions Club’s Ken Poulsen to kickstart his next shipment of eyewear, destined for Brisbane-based Lions Recycle for Sight where they’re processed for shipment to third world countries.
It doesn’t matter if the frames are OK and the lenses damaged or vice versa, as the project recycles any usable component.
Mr Poulsen has just dispatched his latest shipment, the first for the year. A total of 332 pairs of glasses were gathered in Tenterfield for the cause during 2018 and he would love to maintain the upward trend.
Glasses can be passed directly to Mr Poulsen or left at Soul Pattinson Chemist or Brennan and Smith Optometrists.
