Jennings down to 100 litres a day

In a taste of what may be in store for the wider Tenterfield community, the residents of Jennings just this side of the Queensland border will move to Critical Water Restrictions come September 1.

Tenterfield Shire Council pays Southern Down Regional Council to supply the village with water. The northern council is applying the critical status across its local government area.

The target for Critical Water Restrictions is 100 litres per person per day.

The remainder of Tenterfield Shire remains on level 4.5 water restrictions (apart from Urbenville, on Level 2), with a target usage of 170 litres per person as the search for supplementary bore water continues.
