Mr Murphy and his troupe meeting in the hall on the first Saturday of each month, playing to an appreciative crowd of country music fans. He's be on hand to see the improvements that the entrepreneurial couple are making on the site, and wished to share some of the proceeds from the monthly gigs.
"They're always good to me," Mr Murphy said. "Nothing's any trouble."
He said he knows that all the new curtaining and paining in the hall cost a chunk of money, and was happy to contribute $1000 to the effort.
The hall kitchen is being brought up to standard, and Mr Murphy's looking forward to its unveiling.
The hall is also the site of the Tenterfield Farmers and Producers Market on the remaining Saturdays of the month along with other community activities, and will host The Honest through her song dinner and show at the start of the Peter Allen Festival on September 5.
