After monitoring the pool overnight and attending several times to clean the ash from the pool vacuums, the managers of the pool were happy to open on Friday morning.
A statement from Tenterfield Shire Council said the visible matter in the pool had gone and the chlorine disinfection was running at acceptable levels.

Tenterfield War Memorial Pool has been closed this afternoon with concerns regarding the water quality from the smoke and ash from the current fires.
A statement from Tenterfield Shire Council said the water balancing had been thrown out and ash was entering the water and filtration systems.
The council said the pool would be covered and reassessed on Friday.
Regrettably Learn to Swim classes and Swim Club had to be cancelled this afternoon.
