One of the competition's biggest advocates is Rachel Cowin who went through the process to be sashed Tenterfield's Miss Showgirl 2020. She is now sharing the benefit of her experience with others, and supporting them on their showgirl journey.
"What interested me in the Showgirl competition was the opportunity to meet new people and experience new things," Rachel said.
"The most enjoyable part of participating in Tenterfield Showgirl was being able to be an ambassador for our small community."

Her advice to girls thinking about participating in this show's competition is 'just do it'.
"It's not nearly as scary as you think it might be. It's a lot of fun and you get to spend it with great people."
Unfortunately Rachel's 12-month reign has been impacted by COVID-19, restricting showgirl events and movement of representatives between towns. Rachel said there was no pressure to commit to any undertaking that might have concerned individual participants.
Nevertheless that past 12 months have been busy ones for Rachel.
"I have moved towns to be with my partner, I have been teaching at the Inglewood Childcare and Kindergarten and I have also got myself a new car.
"It has been a privilege to be Miss Showgirl and I would strongly encourage any girl who is interested in participating next year to give it her best shot.
"I have enjoyed communicating with the Showgirl committee about the upcoming competition and the 2021 show. "I look forward to the 2021 show and meeting all of the entrants."
The showgirl competition is open to all interested young ladies aged 18-24 years.
